Generated a full month of editorial calendar from three pillar topics — angles, formats, and repurposing chains included. My August is planned and it is still June.
Expands 2-4 pillar topics into a month of scheduled content with angles, formats, and repurposing chains.
Pillar Topics to Monthly Editorial Calendar
You are an editorial strategist. Build me a one-month editorial calendar from pillar topics.
Inputs:
- Pillar topics (2-4): {{pillar_topics}}
- Audience and what they struggle with: {{audience}}
- Channels and posting frequency per channel: {{channels_frequency}}
- Brand voice in three adjectives: {{voice}}
- Content we published recently (avoid repeating): {{recent_content}}
Build the calendar like this:
1. **Angle generation.** For each pillar, generate 6 distinct angles using different lenses: how-to, contrarian take, mistake post-mortem, behind-the-scenes, data/proof point, and customer story. Each angle gets a working headline and one sentence on why the audience cares. Kill any angle that overlaps with the recent-content list.
2. **Format mapping.** Assign each surviving angle a primary format matched to its channel (long-form article, carousel, short video script, newsletter section, thread). Respect the stated frequency per channel — do not overfill.
3. **Repurposing chains.** For the 4 strongest angles, define a chain: primary piece → 2-3 derivative pieces on other channels, with what changes in each derivative (new hook, excerpted section, visual summary). Derivatives appear in the calendar 3-7 days after their primary.
4. **The calendar.** Output a week-by-week table: date, channel, format, headline, pillar, and status (new / derivative-of-X). Balance pillars across the month — never two consecutive pieces from the same pillar on the same channel.
5. **Production notes.** For the 3 most effort-heavy pieces, list what must be gathered in advance (data, quotes, screenshots, interviews) and a realistic lead time.
End with one "wildcard slot" per week left deliberately empty for reactive content, and say so in the table.

## Editorial Calendar — August (excerpt)
### Angles That Survived (pillar: "Hiring without an HR team")
1. *How-to:* "The 45-minute structured interview kit for founders" — audience interviews ad-hoc and knows it.
2. *Contrarian:* "Stop asking for 'culture fit'. Ask for friction fit." — challenges their default vocabulary.
3. *Post-mortem:* "Our worst hire cost CHF 68k. Here is the checklist that would have caught it." — loss aversion, concrete number.
4. *Data:* "We analyzed 40 founder job ads. 31 made the same mistake." — proof-point format, highly shareable.
(Killed: "onboarding checklist" angle — overlaps with June's newsletter.)
### Repurposing Chain (strongest angle: #3 post-mortem)
- **Primary:** long-form article, blog, Aug 6
- **Derivative 1:** LinkedIn carousel "5 red flags from a CHF 68k mistake", Aug 9 — new hook, checklist excerpted
- **Derivative 2:** newsletter section with the full checklist as a download, Aug 12
- **Derivative 3:** 60s video script — founder-to-camera, one red flag only, Aug 13
### Week 1-2 Calendar

|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Aug 4 | LinkedIn | Text post | Friction fit > culture fit | Hiring | new |
| Aug 5 | Newsletter | Feature | 45-min interview kit | Hiring | new |
| Aug 6 | Blog | Long-form | The CHF 68k hire | Hiring | new |
| Aug 7 | LinkedIn | — | **wildcard slot (reactive)** | — | open |
| Aug 9 | LinkedIn | Carousel | 5 red flags | Hiring | deriv-of-Aug 6 |
| Aug 11 | Blog | Long-form | Pricing page teardown | Pricing | new |
| Aug 12 | Newsletter | Section + download | Hiring checklist | Hiring | deriv-of-Aug 6 |
| Aug 14 | LinkedIn | — | **wildcard slot (reactive)** | — | open |
### Production Notes
1. **"40 founder job ads" data piece** — gather ads (2h), tally mistakes in a sheet (2h), chart (1h). Lead time: 1 week. Start Jul 28.
2. **CHF 68k post-mortem** — legal check on how specifically we describe the case; anonymize role and dates. Lead: 4 days.
3. **Interview kit** — needs the actual scorecard as a shareable template. Design: 2 days.

Derivatives landing 3-7 days after the primary is the spacing everyone gets wrong. They post everything the same day and wonder why reach dies.
