Few-Shot Prompting

Few-shot prompting means showing the AI model a handful of examples of the desired task within the prompt before the actual request. This noticeably improves the accuracy and consistency of responses.

With few-shot prompting, the model learns the desired pattern directly from the supplied examples without any retraining. Typically two to five well-chosen examples are enough to set format, tone, and logic. The technique is especially useful for classification, formatting, and stylistically sensitive tasks. It contrasts with zero-shot prompting, where no examples are provided.
