MCP (Model Context Protocol)

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that connects AI models to external tools, data, and services in a uniform way. It works like a universal plug between AI and applications.

MCP was introduced by Anthropic to standardize the integration of tools and data sources into AI applications. Instead of building a custom interface for each application, developers can provide an MCP server that any compatible AI model can use. This gives agents structured access to files, databases, APIs, and services. MCP fosters an open ecosystem of reusable tools for AI.
